During our Sunday morning gatherings, we welcome both the opportunity for parents to listen to biblical teaching, and for children to learn more about Jesus in an environment catered for them, and at their level of understanding.
Our Children Ministries class is for children aged 4-9. It is designed to provide a safe environment for children and is centered around teaching the Word of God.
- We seek to teach the whole counsel of God to our children. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
- We pray for the children and rely on the Holy Spirit to regenerate their hearts through the faithful teaching of His Word (Ephesians 2:4-10).
Creche
For parents or nursing mothers needing a room, a creche room is available during our services with a speaker to hear the sermons and toys for infants.
Redemption Church Public Commitment to Child Safety
At Redemption Church, we are committed to providing a safe environment where all people, including children and vulnerable adults (disabled and elderly), can be encouraged to grow in their knowledge and understanding of Christ and His word. Therefore, we have zero tolerance for child abuse and exploitation in any form. We believe that every child has inherent value, dignity and worth from the moment of conception, no matter their linguistic, cultural or geographic background. We acknowledge that every child is unique and therefore we are committed to providing supports that are appropriate to their individual needs. Furthermore, we encourage children, young people and vulnerable adults (disabled and elderly) to be active participants in our community by sharing their opinions, ideas and speaking up if anything makes them uncomfortable.
At Redemption Church, we acknowledge that Child Safety is everyone’s responsibility and that no one can be an innocent bystander. Therefore, we encourage the prompt reporting of child safety issues to the appropriate authority. If anyone in our community (including children) has a concern they would like to raise regarding their own or a child’s safety, they are encouraged to speak with any of our staff and volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to, the Redemption Child Safety Officers, Children and Youth Ministry Volunteers, or the Church Elders. Where possible, we aim not only to comply with the relevant laws and legal obligations of the Victorian Child Safety Act, but also to exceed the minimum standards, as we encourage all members to act in a manner that is above reproach.
